EDEC 4030: Week 2
In chapter three, it discussed that teachers should focus their attention on expectations of the students and not harp on all of the rules. It also stated that great teachers should set expectations for their students at the start of the year. An exemplar of this happened in my classroom that my teacher told me about. My mentor teacher stated that others had doubted that her students would pass the CRCT, but she knew that they could especially because they HAD TO! She told her students that SHE knew they could pass the CRCT. By giving them this encouragement and making this statement, she set expectations for her students to pass the test.
Guess what? They all did.
